The new 2015 Mercedes AMG GT supercar is on the way. Here’s everything you need to know about the 503bhp V8 beast
The new Mercedes AMG GT is coming to showrooms very soon, complete with its SLS-inspired silhouette, a stunning design and a brand new turbocharged 4.0-litre V8. It becomes the flagship sports car in Mercedes’ range but isn’t a direct replacement for the SLS, focusing instead on rivalling models like the Porsche 911 Turbo and Jaguar F-Type R.
The new sports car will be offered from launch in two flavours: the GT and the GT S. Both are powered by the same engine but where the GT gets a 456bhp version, the GT S is upgraded to 503bhp. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with the GT S able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and the GT taking two-tenths longer.
