Mercedes AMG Fastest Again In Second F1 Practice Session In Melbourne

Mercedes AMG go fastest again at the second F1 practice session in Melbourne with Rosberg once again being fastest of the two with an improved time of 1.27.697. Early indications are showing that they are even further ahead than they were at the beginning of 2014. Hamilton was second followed by Vettel in third, Raikkonen in fourth and Botas in fifth.

Rosberg Melbourne F1This time it was Williams turn to have power unit problems meaning Felipe Massa didn’t get out. It was also bad news for Red Bull’s Ricciardo and his Australian fans as his team had to do an engine change meaning he also didn’t get out.

McLaren Honda made it out onto the track after cutting short their earlier session due to a power unit problem but after running wide at turn 6 and crashing into the tyre wall Magnussen only managed 16th place. The team swiftly reported he was fine after the session was red flagged to retrieve his car. Button however did improve on his earlier time finishing in 13th place and completing 20 laps but did report power loss problems near the end of the session.

Sauber drivers Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr both made it out onto the track this session however Manor Cars didn’t run again.
